The Atrium was born from a simple idea: that remarkable things do not need to belong to the same world to belong together.
Artworks, automobiles, gemstones and objects of exceptional craftsmanship each carry their own stories. Different origins. Different makers. Different traditions. What brings them together is something less easily defined; beauty, character, craftsmanship, curiosity and the ability to hold our attention.
An Evolving Collection
The Atrium Collection grew from the meeting of two perspectives: the world of bespoke automotive design and craftsmanship established by Sam Solh at Royal Customs, and Reina Arakji's lifelong relationship with art, design, culture, research and discovery.
Royal Customs brought more than fifteen years of experience creating highly individual automobiles in Dubai for clients from around the world. Reina's perspective was shaped by a life in academia, research and travel, and an enduring curiosity about art, culture and the stories that give objects meaning.
From the beginning, The Atrium was conceived without the boundaries of a single discipline. The collection reflects this freedom, guided not by category but by a shared appreciation for originality, craftsmanship and character.
There is no fixed formula for what belongs here. The collection is intentionally open-ended, allowing different disciplines, periods and traditions to exist alongside one another without asking them to become alike.
What matters is not what something is, but what makes it remarkable.
A Living Space
The Atrium gives this idea a place to unfold. More than a gallery or showroom, it is a setting for discovery, conversation and exchange, where the works on display become starting points for encounters between people, ideas and perspectives.
Exhibitions and gatherings introduce new voices and new ways of seeing, bringing artists, designers, collectors and curious minds into the life of The Atrium. As works enter and leave the collection, the space changes with them, allowing each visit to offer a different experience.
Making forms another part of this world. Through The Atelier, Royal Customs' specialist craftsmanship, engineering and fabrication capabilities are made available to creators seeking to realize ideas that extend beyond the possibilities of the traditional studio.
The result is a space that resists a single definition, shaped by the works it holds, the people it brings together and the ideas that emerge between them.
