Betty Yaghi × Royal Customs

Azure brought together artist Betty Yaghi and Royal Customs designer Sam Solh in an exploration of art, design and automotive craftsmanship.

The exhibition presented a selection of works by Yaghi alongside Azure, a singular automobile conceived through their collaboration. Yaghi's artistic language entered into dialogue with the materials, craftsmanship and design vocabulary of Royal Customs, allowing the boundaries between artwork and automobile to become deliberately less defined.

Bringing Yaghi's works into the same space as the collaborative automobile revealed the relationship between the two: distinct forms of expression connected through color, material, craftsmanship and artistic vision.

Presented as part of The Atrium Collection's exhibition archive, Azure predates the formal establishment of The Atrium, yet anticipated many of the ideas that would later define it: the meeting of different creative disciplines, collaboration across traditional boundaries, and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and artistic expression. The two days of Azure offer a glimpse into the people and atmosphere surrounding its presentation.
